Denise became a Christian in her early thirties after leaving an abusive marriage and recognizing the childhood trauma she had experienced. Denise tried secular counseling, but found her healing really excelled when she brought God into the process. Biblical Counseling allowed Denise to recognize her worth and value in God's eyes. With God's help, she was able to heal from her past. God is able to bring good out of bad when we trust Him. Her heart's desire is to walk with women in their healing journey, and find hope for their future.
Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety. 19 You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help. (Job 11:18-19)
Denise has both her Bachelors of Social Work (CSU, Long Beach) and her Masters of Social Work (CSU, Fresno). She has worked in social services forety years until her retirement in 2022. Denise serves as a certified Unbound Biblical Counselor, and as the secretary of Grace Matters Board of Directors.
She is proud of her success in raising her daughter as a single parent and is close today with her step sons. Denise has a husky and 2 cats. She enjoys travel, nature and her flower garden.
